Ikageng Community Empowerment (ICE) is an Adult Basic Education and Training group based in Madumane village, in the Ga-Modjadji area of the Northern Province of South Africa. Although the area is renowned internationally as the land of the Rain Queen Modjadji and home to the ancient Modjadji cycads, few locals benefit from the area's tourism activities. In response to the area's high unemployment and illiteracy rates, ICE aims to equip its members with marketable skills, including sewing, craftmaking, and English, which will enable them to participate in and benefit from Ga-Modjadji's tourism industry.

ICE's products, including pottery, textiles, basketry, and beaded crafts, are all created by hand, using styles and techniques learned from generations of crafters. These products reflect the rich cultures of the Lobedu and Tsonga people of the Northern Province. ICE's members look forward to introducing locals and tourists to the natural and cultural beauty of Ga-Modjadji. With prior arrangement, ICE's members would be happy to perform traditional dances and prepare traditional foods for visitors to enjoy. We invite you to learn more about ICE by exploring this website and contacting us directly. Thank you for your support!
